Jennifer Austin
has packed a lot of experience into her 10-year broadcast career. A
Texas native, she got her start in radio in the Gulf Coast region as a
classic rock jock – but quickly mastered a variety of formats and
skills.
Within 9 months (the same length of time it takes to properly cook a
baby), Jennifer was entrusted with ensuring client satisfaction as
Assistant Production Director. This included but certainly was not
limited to writing, voicing, and producing spots and station imaging.
During the course of mastering classic rock, active rock, CHR, Hot AC
and Country formats, she was selected to voice track for other
stations. Later, she put her creativity and humor to work Promotions
Director - becoming not just the voice but also the face of her
station. Jennifer has made regular television appearances, frequent
public appearances and speaking engagements. Eventually, she created
and hosted an original talk show.
Jennifer moved to Seattle almost 4 years ago where she took a position
with the legendary AAA station KMTT – otherwise known as 103.7,
The Mountain. After working there for a year both on air and as an
integral part of the production team, she was persuaded to join KOMO
100 NewsRadio.
Since then, Jennifer has been featured on The Bob Rivers Show (KZOK),
where she appears regularly as News Director/ad-hoc stuntwoman, referee
and nanny. She is the latest addition to the house band, Spike and the
Impalers, and is featured on alto saxophone in front of sold-out
crowds. Recently, she joined members of Yes, Queen, Santana, and Earth,
Wind, and Fire in an all-star concert for charity.
At the other end of the spectrum, Jennifer was a recurring guest on The
Coach Laurie Show on KKNW. Currently, Jennifer can be heard on KOMO
1000 NewsRadio throughout the week, doing both hard news and celebrity
interviews, and on commercials and station imaging across the nation.
